UMW: A TRADITION OF SERVICE TO OTHERS

United Methodist Women (UMW) work to build a supportive community among women, engaging in activities that foster growth in Christian faith, mission education, and Christian social involvement.

The purpose of the Golden First UMC chapter of UMW is:

"...to know God and to experience freedom as whole "persons through Jesus Christ; to develop creative, supportive friendships; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the varied global ministries of the United Methodist Church."

UMW supports this purpose in a number of ways:

SMALL GROUPS, which are also known as CIRCLES. Circles meet for Bible study, fellowship, and to work on projects. Circles which currently meet at Golden FUMC are as follows:

The CRAFT CIRCLE meets Tuesdays at 9:30 am.

The
SISTERS OF SALOME CIRCLE meets on the 1st Saturday of each month at 9:30 am.

The
ESTHER CIRCLE meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 12:00 pm.

The
EVENING CIRCLE meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm.

The
JOY CIRCLE meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 1:00 pm.

The
QUILTING CIRCLE meets Thursdays at 10:00 am.

LARGE GROUP UMW activities and meetings are held several times per year.
