The need for missionary service in Japan was great following World War II (WWII), so in 1951 Rev. Harold and wife Margaret Rickard answered the call. For the next three decades, Margaret and Harold devoted their efforts to serving others in Okinawa and on the Japanese mainland.

Harold and Margaret witnessed the destructive results of war both at Okinawa and at Hiroshima -- and they participated in reconstruction. They helped rebuild churches, pastored, comforted, taught, and gave hope.

Experiencing firsthand the heavy rule of the American military presence on Okinawa, Harold and Margaret became advocates and worked tirelessly for social justice for Okinawans.

And they still do. Peace and justice issues are always at the forefront of their lives.

Harold and Margaret's lives have been devoted to Jesus Christ -- and to serving Christ through service to others. This is their story... [click]
