Outreach at Golden First UMC consists of two service-oriented efforts: Caregiving Ministries and Evangelism! Our Caregiving Ministries are generally congregationally oriented and / or community-based. Our Evangelistic Ministries are much broader in scale- efforts extend from our community to the world at-large!	Christian caregivers are charged to serve others compassionately in Christ's love: "This is my commandment- that you love one another as I have loved you!" John 15:12 In serving others, Christian caregivers also serve Jesus Christ: "Truly I tell you- just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me!" Matthew 25:40.

CAREGIVING MINISTRIES

The Caregiving Commission at Golden First UMC is a compassionate, giving group of members whose goal is to serve God by ministering to members of the congregation and to the community-at-large! The Christian caregivers in this ministry are dedicated to visiting the aging, the elderly, and the lonely. We visit those who are ill and hospitalized. We are blessed in welcoming new babies.
We organize dinner groups in an effort for our members to grow closer to each other and to God. Outreach Ministry members send cards, take lunch, deliver plants and flowers, make Easter baskets and deliver them, and provide other means of care as needed. The Caregiving Commission provides love and support to our congregation and community. We envision a long future of responding and caring! CONGREGATIONAL AND COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS: Christian Caregiving: A Way of Life! A class which examines caregiving from Christian perspectives. Based on the book by Kenneth Haugk. EVANGELISTIC MINISTRIES

The Evangelism Commission encompasses many ways by which we promote God's Word through our church! This web site represents one mechanism by which we reach out!
