| Only $5.00 is needed to supply a blanket to a person in need through the Church World Service (CWS) "Tools of Hope and Blankets" Project! In the United Methodist Church (UMC), the third Sunday after Epiphany is usually designated as Blanket Sunday. Local United Methodist churches support this effort with special collections, and monies received are dedicated to purchasing and shipping blankets to people in need -- wherever they be around the world! On January 21, 2001, Golden First UMC raised $840.00 -- enough money to supply 168 blankets to persons needing warmth. The Missions / Church and Society Commission at Golden First UMC thanks all who contribute to this annual effort! |
