Written by Wesley in 1739, 'O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing' commemorates Wesley's own conversion to Christianity on May 21, 1738. The first of these is actually the seventh in Wesley's poem. This now popular verse is thought to echo an expression often used by Peter Bohler: Words: Charles Wesley, 1739. Music: Carl G.
